Key Priorities for Baie D’Urfe
Finance
- Establish a council Finance Committee with direct input from Councillors on financial structure, planning and surplus management.
- Develop standard service-level agreements with associations to ensure the highest level of service and reliability.
Planning and Infrastructure
- Encourage the development and improvement of the town’s infrastructure, including roads, parkland, public transport, and municipal buildings.
- Participate in the application of new development by-laws and SPAIP to maintain the unique character of our town.
- Participate in the housing density plan for the Morgan/Surrey sector and ensure the plan reflects the values and future needs of our community.
- Address the continued safety issues with the railway level crossing at Morgan Road.
Parks, Recreation and Culture
- Prepare an asset development strategy for Baie-D’Urfé parks and non-park green spaces, and fully integrating it with the Town’s long-term sustainable development policy.
- Example, include drainage plans for specific parks and upgrades such as a pickle ball space at Balsam Park.
- Pursue certification of Baie-D’Urfé as a “family-friendly” and “age-friendly community”, featuring citizen input.
- Encourage library expansion to meet future population growth.
Environment
- Develop a Waste Management Policy, striving for best practices in residual materials management and zero waste.
Emergency Measures
- Ensure the implementation of the Emergency Measures Policy adopted in 2025 to guarantee the safety and well-being of citizens during civil emergencies.
- Support the mission of the Baie-D’Urfé Rescue Squad, Citizens on Patrol and Coast Guard Auxiliary unit.
